4.d Espionage and sabotage (headquarters)

In order to conduct activities in this field, players first need to recruit secret agents. Once the active player has a secret agent, there is a selection of options they can choose from.

By tapping on the plus and minus symbols, the active player can increase or reduce the number of secret agents to be recruited. Depending on the time required to produce the secret agents, they will be ready for action in one of the next game rounds. This will be displayed in the covert event “New secret agents”.

Note: It is advisable for a player to keep a few secret agents (up to 10) in his/her headquarters as they can defend against enemy agents.

The active player can dispatch a secret agent to spy on another player (tap on the “tick” symbol next to the player to be spied on) to discover the level of research this player has reached. The player will be informed in the next round whether the secret agent was successful or not (covert event: “Confidential information” or “Act of espionage failed”).

Note: If the player is unlucky, the opposing player will capture his/her agent and will thus know who is resorting to such dirty tricks!

Tip: It is even possible for a player to spy on players with whom they have a peace treaty or an alliance. Of course, if the spying player is caught out, this could have serious consequences for the diplomatic relationship!

The active player can dispatch a secret agent to sabotage another player (tap on the “tick” symbol next to the player to be sabotaged) and cause them serious damage. The player will be informed in the next round whether the sabotage was successful or not (covert event “Successful sabotage” or “Sabotage”).

Note: If the player is unlucky, the opposing player will capture his/her agent and will thus know who is resorting to such dirty tricks!

Tip: It is even possible for a player to sabotage players with whom they have a peace treaty or an alliance. Of course, if the sabotaging player is caught out, this could have serious consequences for the diplomatic relationship!
